Christians Against Poverty

This Sunday sees the launch of a Christians Against Poverty centre in Wakefield.

Based in Bradford, Christians Against Poverty recently celebrated 15 years of providing quality debt counselling for those in need. The opening of a centre in Wakefield makes it one of 205 Centres throughout the country, which have helped 45,000 people over the years to become debt-free.

The Centre is sponsored by five Churches in Wakefield, St Helen's, Sandal, St George's, Lupset, St James', Thornes, New Life Christian Fellowship and St Catherine's, Sandal. Many other churches have expressed their support, The Centre Manager, Sarah Cutts, will be available to visit those seeking help who telephone the central help-line 01274 760720, or go online to capuk.org.

Please could you publicise this in your church newsletters, and wherever possible use the full name, Christians Against Poverty, as the acronym CAP in Wakefield refers to the Community Awareness Project, which has been going for a long time.

The launch service will be held at St Helen's, Sandal, at 10.45am. on Sunday 27th May.
