Pastoral Ministries
Ministry of caring, visiting and praying for anyone who is ill or troubled in any way.
Prayer
Jesus promises that when we ask in faith, he will answer our prayer. There is no special technique: all that is required is that prayer comes form the heart filled with faith and love. Our prayers are never, however, just for physical healing, but for wholeness: the healing of body, mind and spirit.
Prayer is offered at both churches after the main Sunday service. If not announced please ask Rupert, the Vicar, or a churchwarden to direct you to a member of the prayer ministry team.
The laying on of hands
The laying on of hands is a prayer for healing. It is a sign of blessing and a symbol of union with Jesus. It is as if Jesus is telling us I am with you. The laying on of hands takes place at St Helen's and at St Paul's. Please look in our Grapevine newsletter for dates.
Prayer chain
For urgent prayer in emergencies we have the Walton Prayer Chain. The contact number is Mavis Rowley on 256252.
Bereavement
If you wish to talk to someone about your bereavement even if it was a long time ago contact the Parish Office and we can put you in touch with a member of the Bereavement and Loss Team.

Memorial Services
Twice a year we hold a Memorial Service for the family and friends of all the people whose funeral has been conducted by someone from St Helen's. The family are invited to light a candle and place it on the altar, in memory of the person who has died. We also extend the invitation to anyone who worships with us at either church who may like to remember a loved one in this way. These services take place April and October.
